How are the prices set?
UAE fuel prices were deregulated from August 2015. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Finance act as the government’s representatives in a committee set up to review fuel prices every month, with the policy linked to global prices (official UAE government portal, u.ae). Announcements are carried by WAM at the end of each month and take effect on the first of the next.

Saudi Arabia: annual review, not monthly
Saudi diesel is reviewed annually at the start of each January under the fiscal-balance pricing mechanism in place since 2022, not monthly. The January 2026 review set diesel at SAR 1.79 per litre (path since 2022: 0.63, 0.75, 1.15, 1.66, then 1.79 SAR).
