How do you register a fleet on Asateel?

Registration starts with the company, not the truck: the operator enrols on asateel.itc.gov.ae under its permit category. Abu Dhabi Mobility publishes five lines, freight transport, passenger bus, school bus, delivery motorbike and e-device transport (admobility.gov.ae, checked August 2026).

Install an OBU from an approved supplier
The device must come from the official approved list, 29 suppliers at its 21 April 2026 status date, and Abu Dhabi Mobility states permits are issued only for vehicles with a functioning tracking device installed. The install produces the Certificate of Installation the next step needs.

The exemption list is one line long: Article 10 exempts Armed Forces vehicles and vehicles exempted by other legislation, nothing else. A practical note on network technology: every device class on the current list is 4G/LTE. No official Asateel 2G-upgrade deadline is published, but Etisalat by e& reports it shut down its 2G networks by end of December 2022 (operator notice, e&), so a legacy 2G unit has no network to report over regardless of what any older list says.
What does Asateel mean for tippers and mixers?
Construction fleets carry the schedule’s sharpest exposure, because the overweight lines fine per excess ton: AED 200 per ton under 10% above the maximum, AED 400 at 10-20%, AED 700 over 20% (Resolution 74/2021).
