FAQ

Which tracking mandates apply to your fleet?

Can one device satisfy SecurePath and Asateel together?

They are separate regimes with separate approved lists, and approval in one does not carry to the other. Some suppliers are approved on both and serve you with one device per regime or a dual setup; the regulators make the final call. The full picture is in our three-regime comparison.

My fleet is based in Sharjah or another emirate. What applies?

The national truck-and-shipment tracking system is federal, while SecurePath and Asateel are Dubai and Abu Dhabi programs. If your vehicles enter Dubai or Abu Dhabi within in-scope categories, those regimes can apply to those trips; confirm your category with the regulator.

Is phone GPS enough for compliance?

No. The mandates require approved devices from the regulator’s lists (the Asateel list carried 29 approved suppliers at its 21/04/2026 status date, for example). Phone GPS earns its keep on non-mandated vehicles and in the operations-and-profit layer on top of the mandated device.

What is the fine for running a truck without tracking in Abu Dhabi?

AED 4,000 for operating with no GPS installed, or with the device off, deactivated or not linked to the Centre’s system, per the Resolution 74/2021 violation schedule. The full fine table is in our Asateel fines guide.

Where does this tool’s information come from?

From documented regulator sources: Resolution 74/2021 as published by Abu Dhabi Mobility, SIRA’s SecurePath page with its published pricing, and TGA announcements via the Saudi Press Agency, with anything vendor-sourced labeled as such. Every card links its regulator.
