Overload fine

An overload fine is the penalty for operating a truck above its permitted axle load or gross vehicle weight (GVW). GCC regulators enforce weight limits at weighbridges and through inspections, and tracking specifications for goods trucks in Saudi Arabia have included axle/weight monitoring; specifics change, so verify with the regulator.

Why do tipper fleets care about overload fines?

Because overloading is a per-trip temptation with a per-trip downside. An extra tonne or two raises the revenue of one load slightly, and risks a fine that can wipe out the margin of the whole day, plus faster tyre, brake and axle wear that lands in next quarter’s maintenance bill.
