How Fleetric handles personal data, including the location data collected by the Fleetric Driver app.

Who is responsible for your data

Fleetric is operated by Fleetric Holdings Ltd, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

If you are a DRIVER using the Fleetric Driver app, your employer — the fleet operator who issued your account — decides what data is collected about you and why. They are the data controller. Fleetric acts as a data processor on their instructions: we store and process the data to provide the service, and we do not use it for our own purposes.

This means questions about why your location is tracked, or requests to see or delete your data, are answered by your employer first. We help them respond; we do not overrule them.

What the Driver app collects

Location, including in the background. While you are on duty, the app records your vehicle position so your employer can confirm trips ran, record distance for payment, respond if a vehicle breaks down, and prove a delivery reached a site. Collection continues while the app is closed or not in use, because a shift outlasts the time the screen is on. It stops when your shift ends.

Photos you choose to attach. Receipts for fuel and expenses, and photos of documents, captured with the camera or picked from your gallery. Only the images you attach are uploaded.

Account and device information. Your phone number (used to sign in), your name and driver record as held by your employer, and basic device and app-version information used to diagnose faults.

Trip and expense entries you submit — odometer readings, fuel quantities, amounts and notes.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

We do not track your location when you are off duty.

We do not use driver data to train third-party AI models.

Turning location off

You can withdraw location permission at any time in your phone settings, and the app will keep working for everything else. Your employer may have its own rules about working with tracking disabled; that is between you and them, and this policy does not change your employment terms.

Who we share data with

Your employer, who is the controller of your data.

Infrastructure providers who host the service on our behalf under contract, currently Amazon Web Services (data hosted in the EU region unless your employer has agreed otherwise).

Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.

How long we keep it

Location history is retained on a rolling window and older detail is removed automatically. Financial and compliance records — invoices, expenses, documents — are kept for as long as your employer needs them to meet tax and regulatory obligations in their country, which is typically several years.

When a fleet ends its contract with Fleetric, its data is deleted or returned on request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data held about you, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, or object to how it is used. Because your employer is the controller, start with them. If you cannot reach them, contact us and we will help.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each fleet’s data is isolated at the database level so one customer cannot read another’s. Credentials and access tokens are stored encrypted, never in plain text.
