Darb

Darb is Abu Dhabi’s road toll system, administered by the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) at darb.itc.gov.ae. Vehicles passing a Darb toll gate are charged AED 4 per crossing during charged hours; on the four original bridge gates, Sundays and official public holidays are free.

Which gates charge, and when?

The four original bridge gates charge Monday to Saturday during peak windows: the morning window is 7:00-9:00 am, while published sources disagree on the exact evening window, so confirm it on the ITC’s Darb portal before building it into a cost model. On 4 May 2026 the network grew from four to six gates: the Ghantoot gate on the E11 and the Al Qurm gate on Sheikh Zayed Street charge AED 4 per crossing around the clock, seven days a week (press-reported; verify on darb.itc.gov.ae).

Press reports also state that the former daily and monthly caps for private vehicles were removed from 1 September 2025; we could not verify that change at regulator tier, and fleet vehicles were outside those caps in any case. For fleets the practical rule is simple: every charged crossing is AED 4, so a route that crosses gates repeatedly costs exactly that many charges, which puts Darb in per-trip cost next to fuel.
