Salik is Dubai’s electronic toll system, run by Salik Company PJSC, the emirate’s exclusive toll gate operator under a 49-year concession from the RTA running to 2071, using RFID and number-plate recognition with no barriers.

How much does Salik cost per crossing?

Since 31 January 2025, Salik uses variable pricing: AED 6 per crossing in peak hours, AED 4 off-peak and AED 0 past midnight, replacing the previous flat AED 4 fare (Salik Company PJSC H1 2025 results). Two new gates, at the Business Bay Crossing and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road, were activated on 24 November 2024 (RTA). Scale is significant: Salik recorded 424.2 million total trips in the first half of 2025.

For a fleet, Salik is a per-trip cost that varies with route and time of day, so it belongs in per-vehicle trip costing, not in overheads. Fleetric reads toll charges alongside the mandated tracking feed and allocates them to trips and vehicles; the fuel cost article shows how tolls and fuel combine into trip cost.
